In 'International Tourism Fair' in Paris

-
During these last four days I've participated in three exhibitions or fairs which seems interesting to tell me some details. First, I come like every year, 'Salon Mondial du Tourisme' of Paris, which is nothing else than the International Tourism Fair , located in one of the trade fair complex and Europe's largest convention, the 'Porte de Versailles'. Event developed between 17 and 20 March this year the Salon that brings together all the tourism professionals and the general public who wish to exchange material, news, participate in conferences, debates, exhibitions, etc. have come to the same number as the previous year ( about 100000 people according to organizers ) but with a different climate to the previous issue, due to political and social situation that exists in many Arab countries ( popular destinations the French public ) and the tragedy in Japan another destination of local and strong country that usually invest in promoting themselves in this type of event. Like previous editions, I often draw attention to the low participation of countries considered 'power' in terms insdustria tourism. It occurs to me that the low attendance of countries due to what promoters are absurdly expensive, which is present in an event of this kind, and I suppose that some mechanism must also fail the organization in charge of this event. Personally this year I went to the 'Salon Mondial du Tourisme' drawn by two developments: first developed a special ward for the owners of a very accommodations booming for French citizen who fully subscribe. I refer to the 'chambres d'hôtes' u 'inns', a type of housing and can percnotar with families that have enabled his residence to receive this type of traveler. I had the opportunity to talk to some owners of this type of accommodation and discovered sites of great interest because of its location, the core values \u200b\u200bof its architectural heritage and the services provided to its customers. As I have mentioned in previous reports, the accommodations in 'chambres d'hôtes' u 'bed & breaksfast' in its English version, enables us to access a very positive approach to the inhabitants of a site visit. So far I have never been disappointed by this type of accommodation, on the contrary, have allowed me to feel 'at home' and learn much more of a local culture that if I had stayed in a common and impersonal hotel, the many international chains. Absolutely recommend accommodation in 'chambres d'hôtes' .

In France there are many associations and guides that offer us a better approach to this type of establishment and the 'Salon Mondial de Tourisme' of Paris I met two guides seemed very interesting, one called 'Clé Vacances' ( which could translate as' the key to the holidays "or" the keys of the holidays' ) and meet locations and 6000 25000 ' chambres d 'hôtes' . The interesting thing 'Clé Vacances' is cataloging these establishments (farms and inns ) giving a 'key' by category of services, offering its Web site a complete and thorough of all The establishments covered, divided by region, department or towns. Another association that I have discovered is called 'La Clef Verte' , a program 'Foundation for Environmental Education' distinguishes tourist establishments for their efforts in preserving the environment. About the international plan 'La Clef Verte' is implemented in 16 countries and represents more than a thousand stores. Two guides I recommend are the 'Guide de Charme' which annually publishes 'Les maison d'hôtes de charme' , which means the 'charming guest houses' or phone 'Maisons d'hôtes of characters' performing a careful selection of the best 'chambres d'hôtes' in France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

For the few countries in the exponents 'Salon Mondial du Tourisme' Paris, greatly emphasized the huge stand of Tourist Office of Spain , whose size, structure and organization, allowing us to approach passers-by each of the English provinces represented, with staff sufficient in each desktop and inform all who came and marketing material from the best I've seen in recent events. I've talked to people in the 'Aragon Tourist Office' , whose professionalism and dedication I have called attention pleasantly. So, I brought home material on 'Goya in Aragón' , a comprehensive guide to 'Inns of Aragon' , 'El Camino de Santiago' and 'Wine Route' also Aragon . Another province to which I have approached ( to name a few) has been Cantabria whom I have reported on the 'Road to Santiago and Santo Toribio' and then I have offered a spectacular map on 'Road to Santiago in Green Spain: Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country' ( this map is one of those treasures that you want to keep forever! .) Then I caught material on 'Road to Santiago' through Basque ( like to see is a theme that attracts me enormously ) and finally a comprehensive guide ... 'Santa Pola' in Alicante province, as it will be my next destination: I have good friends living there, I will visit between March 30 and April 9, week to try closer to Valencia (city do not know) and other sites around that my hosts are responsible for teaching. Congratulations then to all local tourist offices, as they have made a huge effort to say 'Present' in this 'Salon Mondial du Tourisme' in Paris and for Spain, by all means commenting, will be a particularly attractive target for the French public because of their known spells and to low interest this year are French popular destinations such as Tunisia, Egypt or Morocco.

Finally, and as for French destinations, not only have I learned about 'chambres d'hôtes' previously mentioned, but I've found two companies that offer a service very personal interest: this is ' Les Canalous' a company that rents boats, accommodation for two people or a whole family and allows us to make circuits through internal channels and rivers of Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Netherlands and of course, France. I've seen this type of craft when I visited some regions of France as 'Burgundy' or the 'Valle de la Loire' and I'm always struck by how attractive they might find a region known through its waterways and I think it's one of the most authentic and original possibilities we could have. Without doubt, thanks to the service recommended by the people of 'Les Canalous' able to perform this dream. To cite an example: You can access these boats with our bikes, touring a beautiful region such as 'Burgundy', with the ability to stop at every port you want on our itinerary, down to earth and through valleys cycling ( circuits vineyards, castles and gastronomy tours, fishing, visit the 'National Park of Morvan', the 'Natural Reserve of La Truchère' or 'Grutas de Beze' ). Discover a place honored 'Heritage' as is 'Basilica Vézeley' (... and classified as one of the 'most beautiful villages of France' ) or see first hand the enormous feat of engineering that has been building the ' Canal of Burgundy' (begun in 1775 and opened to navigation in 1832) and its historical locks. Another company that offers this type of service is called 'Le Boat' , being its main feature has a fleet of more than 1000 boats and 200 itineraios suggested ( in France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, England, Ireland and Scotland ) without the need for a permit for 'driving' or experience, providing only the desire to discover regions and towns in a lively and original. ... Yes, sometimes we can help assist these types of events, without a doubt that everyone can find a topic of interest to us and above all learn about the development of an industry that continues to mutate and expand the horizon of travelers in search of their own emotions.

Quelques Notes: The other two events that I referred in the first paragraph, are the 'Salon du Livre de Paris' ( Paris Book Fair ) in this edition dedicated Nordic authors and a very special guest: this is Buenos Aires, which has been declared by UNESCO as 'World Book Capital' . Developed between 18 and 21 March, has been one of the best events I attended, not only for the chance to enjoy a stand as presented Buenos Aires ( called 'Café Buenos Aires' ) but also offered us the opportunity to enter a world, the issues, which in France is having an incredible dynamic.

Another event in which I participated, this time invited by two Belgian friends who are part of the organization, it is the 'Bed & Breakfast Expo ', developed in the spectacular Cenvenciones Center' Tour & Taxi "from the city of Brussels ... but these two events and the coming in which will participate, 'Salon des Vins des Vignerons Indépendants' ( Independent Wine Fair France) and 4 ° Festival ' Partir Autrement ' dedicated to travel' alternative 'around the planet, I will tell in future editions.
